Today, I opened my model file called Healthpack and found that there was a problem with the Maya settings that was preventing me from opening a PSD Network so that I could texture my model. This resulted me having to rebuild my model and deleting the settings that automatically returns, restoring the settings to the default settings.
With this done and restored, I began rebuilding my model and I searched for reference materials for textures and found three that I have modified and used to texture my model. I used the extrude tool to get the health symbol to bulk out the top.
I then used the PSD (Photoshop) file I created to drag the textures onto the UV maps to enable texturing, I altered the shape and size of the texture also I added a gradient effect to the texture. so there'd be shade on the texture. I then placed this texture in Maya, the textures I used are from CGTextures because the textures in Maya are not what I want. The reason why I used this though is because I can't draw vary good textures and I wanted very realistic textures.
With this done I can save it with no additional problems although I did think about the triangle limit when I was making the HealthPack, I couldn't use anything but a cube because a sphere has 788 triangles and a torus has 400 triangles, but I had 200 triangles to play with.
